We are looking for Laboratory Technician to join our Laboratory team
Job Summary:
The post-holder should independently perform routine analyses and tests in the laboratory and contributing to the general maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies. The post holder should also be involved in new method evaluations and other quality initiatives.Duties & responsibilities:
Perform technical duties according to the policy of the lab and instructions from the head of the department.Takes part in routine specimen analysis in assigned lab sectionsTake part in the internal and external quality control programs according to the requirement of accreditation bodies.Perform a variety of technical duties in the laboratory to include the performance of routine tests and examinations, assistance in the setup of experiments and the collection & recording of data.Maintains and makes minor adjustments to equipment, e.g. calibrating, alignment.Complies with biohazard safety standards through proper handling of potentially hazardous sources at the workplace.Monitors inventory levels, orders materials, and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures and counts orders upon receipt.Follows policies and procedure for infection control and facility safety in accordance to hospital guidelines.Assist in the evaluation of new analytical methodsAssist the Senior Lab Technician/Lab Manager in reagent inventories for the assigned lab section.Assist in lab quality initiativesQualification & Experience:
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in clinical pathology disciplineAbout 5 years of experience as a Laboratory technician working in different disciplines of clinical pathology. Supervisory experience is an advantage.Knowledge / Technical Skills:
Sound understanding of the practice of laboratory medicineGood practice guidelines regarding laboratory safety and quality as per international normsStrong technical competency in at least one clinical pathology discipline with a good awareness of other lab sectionsPersonal Abilities / Competencies:
People management skillsPlanning and organizational skillsProject management abilitiesLicense / Registration:
Valid DHA Nursing License / Eligibility Lette
